A Call For Speakers, An Award, & A Registration Announcement

Call For Speakers:

ArchLIGHT Summit opened its 2027 Call For Speakers. The June 22-23 architectural lighting event in Dallas is seeking submissions from thought leaders under the theme “From Design Intent to Real-World Application,” focusing on case studies and how lighting ideas move from concept and specification through collaboration, installation, commissioning and into successful, human-centered spaces. The submission deadline is January 15, 2027.

Award:

The 2027 IES Illumination Awards submissions open December 1, 2026. The IES Illumination Awards (IA) program recognizes individuals for professionalism, ingenuity and originality in lighting design based on the individual merit of each entry. Judges are selected from a broad professional spectrum representing knowledge of lighting and design excellence. The judging system is entirely based on how well the lighting design meets the program criteria. The Illumination Awards program is not a competition.

Early Bird Submission: December 1, 2026 – January 7, 2027

Regular Submission: January 8 – February 11, 2027

(Both deadlines are at 11:59pm US Eastern)

Registration is open on the Light + Intelligent Building North America website for the inaugural event taking place March 15–18, 2027, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

David Shiller is the Publisher of LightNOW, and Senior Business Development Consultant at Capacity Consulting, a North American consulting firm providing business development services to advanced lighting manufacturers. The ALA awarded David the Pillar of the Industry Award. David has been co-chair of the ALA’s Engineering Committee since 2010. David established MaxLite’s OEM component sales into a multi-million dollar division. He invented GU24 lamps while leading ENERGY STAR lighting programs for the US EPA. David has been published in leading lighting publications, including LD+A, enLIGHTenment Magazine, LEDs Magazine, and more.
