Today, Savant Systems, Inc. announced it has signed a definitive agreement to buy GE Lighting, a division of GE. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Who is Savant? Based in Massachusetts, the company specializes in home control and automation and is one of the fastest-growing smart home companies in the luxury and mid-markets. Available through iOS and Android, Savant’s Pro technology brings together climate, lighting, entertainment, security, and energy control into a single application interface for the homeowner.
The nearly 130-year-old GE Lighting will remain headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, and its more than 700 employees will transfer to Savant upon completion of the transaction.
The proposed transaction will bring together GE’s legacy and expertise with Savant’s smart home solutions to create a union of trusted and recognizable premium brands in the lighting and connected home technology markets.
