pureLiFi, a global leader in LiFi technology, has announced the launch of Kitefin XE, its next-generation LiFi system designed to deliver highly secure wireless communications for defense, government, and enterprise sectors. Originally developed for the National Security community, Kitefin XE is now being made available to a broader range of customers in response to escalating security threats and the increasing complexity of safeguarding sensitive data in both public and private sectors.
LiFi (Light Fidelity) is a wireless communication technology that uses invisible light rather than traditional radio frequencies (RF) like WiFi or cellular networks. This fundamental difference makes LiFi inherently more secure, as it is immune to common RF vulnerabilities such as detection, interception, and jamming. The Kitefin XE system leverages this advantage, offering an unprecedented level of security for wireless communications—ideal for environments where confidentiality and data protection are paramount, such as military operations or sensitive corporate settings.
Kitefin XE stands out for its ability to provide high-speed, low-latency wireless connectivity with a coverage area of over 720 square feet and Gbps-level capacity, making it the highest-performing LiFi system currently available for government and defense applications. It is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.11bb standard, ensuring seamless integration into existing networks. The system supports both Ethernet and fiber optic deployments, enhancing its flexibility for various operational environments.
The system’s proven technology has already been deployed in highly secure settings, including the US Army’s first large-scale use of LiFi, where previous Kitefin systems (Tactical and Office versions) demonstrated their effectiveness in mission-critical scenarios. Customers have reported that Kitefin XE enables wireless capabilities in locations where traditional RF-based solutions were previously unfeasible, thereby improving mission outcomes and operational success.
