Interesting Street & Area Light Innovations

LEDVANCE has just announced the release of their OPTISELECT area light, with field adjustable light distributions. No lens change is needed. Simply turn a switch to select between T3, T4, and T5 light distributions.

The same LEDVANCE OPTISELECT area light also gives two different options in 3-CCT selectable ranges. One option is 3000K/4000K/5000K, and LEDVANCE also offers an 1800K/2200K/2700K version. More information on the LEDVANCE OPTISELECT area light can be found here.

SRESKY, a contract manufacturer in China, is now promoting their Alpha Solar Street Light. The family comes standard with an LED display screen (see first two images below). The LED screens display: remaining battery capacity, energy saving mode, solar function, power adaptor function, back-up batteries function, PIR sensor fuction, and rain sensor function.

The Alpha Solar Street Light comes with an external port that enables the luminaire to be powered using the included AC adapter, a supplemental solar panel, or a standard USB outlet. The universal socket design accepts three common types of plugs. See the third image below.

In dry weather, the fixture operates at 5700K CCT. However, when the rain sensor detects rain, the fixture automatically switches to 3000K CCT, for enhanced driver visibility in the rain (see bottom image below). More information on the SRESKY Alpha Solar Street Light is available here.
