The most recent email newsletter from LD+A, their E Report, was sponsored by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), with the Request For Information (RFI) graphic above. WMATA is asking lighting design firms to consider responding to their RFI. The image links to the WMATA Procurement and Contracting web page, here.
The deadline for RFI responses is January 18th, 2023. I was able to locate the following active lighting design solicitation on WMATA’s site:
“Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA/Metro) has compiled this Request for Information (RFI) to engage vendors with the interest and capability to design, install, and maintain state-of-the-art lighting and messaging displays on WMATA’s Yellow Line (L-Line) Bridge that connects the L’Enfant and Pentagon Metrorail stations between District of Columbia and Virginia.
Metro anticipates that the Yellow Line Bridge lighting would highlight holidays, cultural, sporting events, and dynamic messaging based on time of day and year.”
