PNNL to Offer Webinar on Lighting and Wellness

The Illuminating Engineering Society, in collaboration with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, will present a free webinar, “Meeting the Moment: Lighting and Wellness,” on June 3, 2021.

The movement to design environments that promote human health and wellness has the lighting industry focused on new metrics and tools that can be used to inform the design process. This webinar will provide a critical overview of factors that can affect nonvisual responses to light and discuss simulation techniques that may be implemented to account for daylight spectra and electric lighting contributions to meet different circadian lighting metrics. It will also present a method to facilitate field studies of lighting using data from wearables.

Presenters include Belal Abboushi and Sarah Safranek, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and Shadab Rahman, Harvard Medical School.
