OSRAM SYLVANIA Recalls T8 LED Tubes Due to Fire Hazard

Another linear LED lamp recall following Cree’s announcement earlier this year. This time, it’s OSRAM SYLVANIA.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled OSRAM SYLVANIA’s instant-start T8 LED SubstiTUBE lamps due to overheating and melting. No injuries have been reported. The lamps were sold through distribution between December 2014 and May 2015. An estimated 46,300 lamps sold in the U.S. and 8,700 in Canada are estimated as being affected by the recall.

Lamps should be removed, and the company contacted for free replacement at 877-423-3772 or ProductQuality@sylvania.com.
