The U.S. Department of Energy recently completed Series 19 of testing through the DOE Solid-State Lighting CALiPER program.
Report 19 reviews the independently tested performance of nine LED linear pendants and also evaluates a supplemental collection of 11 linear pendant products available in both an LED and fluorescent version. In general, the LED versions were more efficacious but sometimes had a different luminous intensity distribution, poorer color quality or different lumen output than their fluorescent counterparts. Specifiers should note that fluorescent and LED versions of the same product are not always interchangeable.
