NALMCO Recognizes Jim Frank

The interNational Association of Lighting Management Companies (NALMCO) recently announced that Jim Frank, CLMC, CSLC, is the 2010 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award.

Frank is the Division Manager for Facility Solutions Group of Shawnee, KS. Facility Solutions Group is a single source provider of lighting, electrical and energy products and services. FSG provides a local market presence with national accounts capabilities. FSG has been a member of NALMCO since 1996.

The Distinguished Service Award is received only once in a lifetime and is not necessarily given every year. It is given to a NALMCO member who has expressed willingness to give unselfishly their time and energy for their fellow NALMCO members and the betterment of the lighting industry.

Frank served as the President-Elect/Treasurer on the NALMCO Board of Directors from 2006-2008 and has served as President of the Association from 2009-2010. Frank received the Distinguished Service Award for revitalizing the NALMCO strategic planning process and incorporating global trends and future forward thinking; securing a public relations firm to develop campaigns to elevate NALMCO as THE source for lighting management and energy efficiency, to develop a new NALMCO logo and brand as well as a three tier media and marketing campaign; leading the charge to secure a professional third party certification management company to re-write the CLMC exam and create an entirely new certification that will support energy efficiency and best practices, the Certified Sustainable Lighting Consultant (CSLC); collaborating with key parties to develop and incorporate the PEERS (The Program for Energy Efficiency Through Responsible Stimulus) initiative and position NALMCO as THE voice of the lighting industry; serving on the PEERS steering committee and developing a PEERS Website, soliciting sponsors, developing a legislative agenda and talking points for legislators and personally meeting with legislators on behalf of NALMCO.

If you’re not familiar with NALMCO, they represent the maintenance and energy management side of the lighting business. I’ve had the pleasure of working with them for two decades. They really are a great bunch of people.
