Codes + Standards, Light + Health

IWBI Releases V2 of WELL Building Standard

The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) recently unveiled the WELL v2 pilot, the next version of its WELL Building Standard, the first building rating system to focus exclusively on the impacts of buildings on human health and wellness.

This second iteration was informed by key lessons learned from the nearly 1,000 projects that are registered or certified in 34 countries across the world.

Refinements and enhancements to the rating system include fewer preconditions and weighted optimizations, consolidation of multiple pilots into one WELL, new compliance pathways, an early phase designation, a new approach to performance verification, and changes to pricing.

Looking specifically at the lighting section, not much appears to have changed. Be sure to comment if I missed anything significant.
