Report: E-Commerce Accounts for 4% of Global Luminaire Market

The CSIL Centre for industrial Studies in Milano, Italy recently published a new report, E-Commerce in the Lighting Fixtures Sector. The report states that e-commerce accounts for 4% of the $75 billion global luminaire market, including both B2B and B2C.

North America is the largest e-commerce market for luminaires; its incidence on the world market for luminaires sold by e-commerce is 47%, followed by Europe with 30%.

Leading players for the e-commerce of luminaires include Amazon, Grainger, Ikea, Rexel, Solar, Sonepar, Willliams-Sonoma. For many of these companies, sales of luminaires represents 1%-2% on their total turnover.
