Litecontrol has earned the prestigious Cradle to Cradle Certification for the fourth year in a row. This third-party certification has to be renewed annually, assuring ongoing improvements in sustainability. The C2C process assesses every nuance in product design and manufacturing, examining details from fixture ingredients to manufacturing practices to renewable energy initiatives.
As part of the 2010 certification renewal process, Litecontrol further developed LiteCycle wiring, a replacement product for the PVC-based wiring material used by all other manufacturers. This makes Litecontrol the first company to eliminate PVC from their fixture wiring. From basing fixture designs on high efficiency ratings to eliminating VOC emissions and hazardous waste in their paint line, Litecontrol’s sustainable efforts are an inherent part of their organization. All lighting fixtures that Litecontrol manufactures in their Massachusetts-based factories are C2C Silver Certified.
