Peerless Lighting Prize for Architecture Awarded

The Peerless Lighting Prize for Architecture scholarships were recently awarded to two students of the University of California, Berkeley. This prize is given to the best student project designed in an architecture studio course at Berkeley, through the College of Environmental Design.

The 2010 awards were presented to:

• Plamena Milusheva – A graduate student who is interested in a professional career in developing and implementing new materials and technologies within design practice.

• Jessica Yang – An undergraduate Architecture student who is interested in sustainable design focusing on energy efficient building practices
The scholarships are provided by Peerless Lighting in support of education programs that support architecture and design. This scholarship has been awarded since 1994 to individuals of UC Berkeley who demonstrate proven, exceptional and distinct excellence in lighting design or architecture.

As in past years, Peerless Lighting donates regularly towards a number of scholarships for outstanding architecture and lighting design students from various universities, as well as supporting the International Association of Lighting Designers Educational Trust with financial contributions.
