OSRAM SYLVANIA recently announced it has settled a patent infringement lawsuit in Canada against Canadian lighting distributors Lakefront Lighting Inc. of Cobourg, Ontario and Luxlite Inc. of Mississauga, Ontario.
The lawsuit, filed in Canadian Federal Court in Ottawa, Ontario, had been brought against the defendants alleging that they were selling and offering to sell electrodeless induction lamps in violation of OSRAM SYLVANIA’s Canadian Patent No. 2,185,267, which is one of several OSRAM SYLVANIA patents related to its ICETRON induction lighting system. As part of the settlement, the defendants are enjoined from infringing the patent in suit.
