I regret to inform you that Jonathan Speirs lost his two-year fight against cancer on June 18, 2012. The family has stated that a celebration of Jonathan’s life will be held at the Mansfield Traquair Centre on Tuesday, June 26 at 4 PM (all are welcome to attend). In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, Western General Hospital.

Additionally, in recognition of Jonathan’s life of achievement, a group of friends has agreed to establish the Jonathan Speirs Scholarship Trust, which will actively raise money to provide financial support to aspiring young architects to enter the lighting profession. Details on this fund will be published on the Speirs + Major website at a later date.
