Innovative emergency lighting technology honored by the Illuminating Engineering Society for advancing lighting performance and code compliance.
naturaLED® (www.naturaled.com), announced that its Plusrite Emergency Driver with Self-Learning Diagnostics (SLD) has been recognized in the 2026 Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) Progress Report, an annual program highlighting products and technologies that advance the art and science of lighting.
The Plusrite Emergency Driver with SLD was selected for its intelligent approach to emergency lighting, introducing automated testing technology that minimizes operational disruptions while helping facility managers maintain emergency lighting systems in accordance with applicable code requirements.
Unlike conventional emergency drivers that initiate diagnostic testing on fixed schedules, the Plusrite Emergency Driver employs Self-Learning Diagnostics to analyze a facility’s lighting usage patterns over a seven-day learning period. Based on those patterns, the system automatically schedules required diagnostic tests during normal OFF hours whenever possible, reducing the likelihood of emergency lighting tests occurring while spaces are occupied.
In addition to its adaptive scheduling capabilities, the emergency driver automatically performs monthly functional testing and the required 90-minute discharge test every 180 days while continuously monitoring battery condition and overall system performance. The automated testing and monitoring reduce maintenance requirements and provide facility personnel with greater confidence in emergency system readiness.
