Congress Considers the Energy Act of 2020

Congress is now considering the Energy Act of 2020, which contains numerous provisions related to energy production, distribution, and more-efficient end use. Looking at the highlights, I didn’t see anything directly related to lighting. I’m hoping at least the Commercial Buildings Tax Deduction will get another extension.

The Illuminating Engineering Society has issued a call for projects for consideration in the 2021 IES Illumination Awards. Submissions will be accepted from January 2 through February 19, 2021.

LG Electronics’ CLoi is a family of autonomous robots that emit UV-C energy to disinfect high-touch, high-traffic areas in commercial and institutional buildings. The product family will be available in early 2021 after an official unveiling at Digital CES, according to the company.
