IESNYC Announces 2016 Lumen Awards

The Illuminating Engineering Society’s New York City Section (IESNYC) announces the recipients of the 2016 Lumen Awards at the 48th annual Lumen Gala held on June 16, 2016 at Chelsea Piers. A signature program of the IESNYC, the Lumen Awards and Gala, showcase and celebrate excellence in lighting design. A record-breaking some 900 members of the lighting community and affiliated design industries attended the gala.

Congrats to all the winners!

The jury selected two Awards of Excellence:

* Tillotson Design Associates for New York’s Lincoln Square Synagogue
* Fisher Marantz Stone for Covington & Burling’s office building in Washington, DC

Six Awards of Merit were presented:

* Domingo Gonzalez Associates for the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge in Nashville, TN
* KGM Architectural Lighting for the OnAir and Open Studio at Hyundai Capital Services in Seoul, South Korea
* One Lux Studio for the cafeteria at 85 Broad Street in New York
* Tillotson Design Associates for The Broad museum in LA
* BuroHappold Engineering for Hillman Hall at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, and another for Grace Farms in New Canaan, CT

Six Citation Awards were presented:

* Orsman Design’s The Sherry-Netherland in New York (for a Historical Restoration)
* Artist Christine Sciulli’s ROIL (for a Temporary Art Installation)
* ICRAVE Lighting’s Terminal A at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (for an Elegant and Restrained Restoration)
* Cooley Monato Studio’s NBC Universal Lobby and Mezzanine Restoration in New York (for a Historical Interpretation)
* Cline Bettridge Bernstein Lighting Design’s Daryl Roth Theatre in New York (for the Skillful Illumination of a Historic Façade)
* ARUP’s Corning Museum of Glass Contemporary Art + Design Wing in Corning, NY (for Daylighting)
