James Turrell Explores Light and Space
As featured in PBS’s Art:21 series:
James Turrell’s work involves explorations in light and space that speak to viewers without words, impacting the eye, body, and mind with the force of a spiritual awakening. Situated near the Grand Canyon and Arizona’s Painted Desert is Roden Crater, an extinct volcano the artist has been transforming into a celestial observatory for the past thirty years. Working with cosmological phenomena that have interested man since the dawn of civilization, Turrell’s crater brings the heavens down to earth, linking the actions of people with the movements of planets and distant galaxies.

We at Candela Controls, Inc. had the distinct honor of working with Mr. Turrell on his museum, owned by Donald Hess, located in Colomé Argentina. His creations transcend the ability of Art or Light to stand alone, thus creating a unique masterpiece with every new exhibit. Mr. Turrell chose us to do the lighting control work knowing that we can provide the final product that was his vision. Candela Controls, Inc.; System Solutions . . . . . . the ART of Lighting Control!
